Fay's Story...
Fay is a senior-aged female Boxer. We think she could be between 7 and 10 years of age, but it’s hard to say for sure. She came to us from the Austin City dog pound. We have no idea why a sweet old gal like this would wind up at the impound. Fay’s physical body seems in good shape, she’s not overweight and is nimble and alert. She currently weighs about 55 pounds. Fay will be a good fit for someone who is looking for a larger, low-maintenance senior dog. She’s been fine with other gentle dogs. She will be spayed soon. Fay resides in a kennel pen for 23 hours a day, and she does great at keeping her pen clean, so we do believe she is housetrained – but she needs to be let out more often than we are able to do at the Shelter. The adoption fee for Fay is $75. We utilize a short adoption application form to assess compatibility between dogs and their prospective homes. This form is a simple one-sided Microsoft Word document and it can be e-mailed to you upon request. If you would like to receive the form via e-mail, or if you have any other questions, please send us an e-mail message.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fay, a Austin Boxer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Boxer for sale in Austin, or seeking a Boxer dog from a breeder in Austin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Austin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Austin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Boxer breeders who help with Boxer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Austin paves the way for another one to be saved.
