JOE's Story...
jOE WAS AN OWNER SURRENDER THOUGH NOT HIS OWN FAULT. WIFE LET JOE SLEEP IN BED WITH HER. HHUSBAND WAS NOT ALLOWED IN BED AND JOE DECIDED TO BITE HIM. SO JOE FOUND HIMSELF NEEDING A NEW HOME. WE HAVE TESTED HIM ON MEN, AND WHILE NOT HIS FAVORITE, WITH CLEAR GUIDELINES, WE THINK HE WILL DO FINE. NO MORE SLEEPING IN A WIFE'S BED FOR JOE - HE BECAME A LITTLE TOO POSESSIVE....JOE WALKS WELL ON A LEASH, IS HOUSE AND CRATE TRAINED AND IS COMPLETELY UP TO DATE ON ALL SHOTS AND NEUTERED. HE LIKES HIS WALKS AND LOVES HIS 2 FOSTER DOG SIBLINGS. JOE WILL DO BEST IN A HOME WITHOUT SMALL CHILDREN DUE TO HIS SMALL SIZE. HE IS A PUREBRED YORKIE, BUT NEVER HAD HIS TAIL DOCKED. IT HAS SO MUCH EXPRESSION. JOE WILL COME WITH 1 FREE TRAINING SESSION FROM KARIN'S KANINES AND A GREAT GO HOME PACKAGE. JOE IS ABOUT 18 MONTHS OLD....HIS ADOPTION FEE IS $250.00.

About Our Rescue Group...
I have no children and 3 rescue dogs of my own - 2 are Therapy Dogs. I have always loved dogs and followed my passion into a career 24 years ago. I believe that rescue starts with emotional healing of the dog. Our dogs are placed in loving homes and interact with families and their own pets. We try and match people to the right dog so everyone is happy and we have a successful adoption! We take into consideration lifestyle, other animals in the home, fencing, ages of children etc...
Donate to Our Rescue Group...
All donations can be sent right to our vet for help in taking care of sick, injured dogs and the cost of spaying, neutering and vaccines. Our Adoption Process...
We do require an adoption application, references, a home visit and a signed contract stating if the dog ever needs to be returned, the dog must come back to One Dog At A Time Rescue Karin The Dog Trainer Shulin. Adoption fees vary based on vet costs. Our minimum adoption fee is $185.00. We do not "sell" dogs. We have much more money in the dogs medically than we can ever recoup by an adoption fee. We can email you an application if you click on the email link to get the process started. We will check your references and schedule a home visit.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
I have been training dogs for 24 years now. The difference between most rescue groups is that we adopt out crate trained, house trained dogs, most with basic obedience. Each adopted dog receives a FREE TRAINING SESSION from Karin Shulin of Karin's Kanines. We are based in Cuyahoga and Lorain County, Ohio. Mostly dealing with the Western Surburbs of Cleveland. We are an all breed rescue and will never turn away a dog in need medically or emotionally.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

JOE, a Westlake Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Westlake, or seeking a Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Westlake.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Westlake already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Westlake breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Westlake paves the way for another one to be saved.
