Dakota's Story...
Dakota is a wonderful basset hound girl that is being fostered in Marshfield, MA. She is owner give up from rural LA that had been horribly neglected. We have brought her back to excellent health and she is ready for a permanent home. Dakota is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. She is great with other dogs and couldn't be any sweeter with everyone. For more information about Dakota and to request an application, please email Leslie at QueenB534@aol.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Groton Basset Hound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound for sale in Groton, or seeking a Basset Hound dog from a breeder in Groton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Groton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Groton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound breeders who help with Basset Hound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Groton paves the way for another one to be saved.
