Lucy's Story...
Lucy is the baby girl! She is the smallest female in the litter. He grew in leaps and bounds over his littermates, as he had command over the food dishes. Despite the fact that he and his litter-mates lost their mom to a car accident, they were whisked into foster care and bottled fed to become big heathy puppies.

Born 12/10/13, Max is pure puppy entertainment. The litter is being house and crate trained, and it is hard with a litter of 6, because when one has an accident we don't know who it is! They should be easy to complete their training when they get into their forever homes and can be given some one-on-one attention!

He is ready for his forever home now and can be neutered as early as next week!

Are you interested in adopting Lucy or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application, available online at our website: www.jcapl.org. There is no obligation to adopt by completing an application, however, we do recommend submitting an application as soon as you find an animal you are interested in. We review applications in the order they are received.

Completed applications can be sent via email to adopt@jcapl.org , faxed to 919-300-5524 or delivered in person by visiting us at one of our adoption events on Saturdays at Petsmart in Garner (White Oak Shopping Center).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Smithfield American Staffordshire Terrier puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Staffordshire Terrier for sale in Smithfield, or seeking a American Staffordshire Terrier puppy from a breeder in Smithfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Smithfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Smithfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Staffordshire Terrier breeders who help with American Staffordshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Smithfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
