This little guy is JoJo. He was rescued from a kill shelter in Southern Ohio. Picked up as a stay, this cute boy sat at the shelter for over a month waiting for his owner to come. JoJo is about 20 pounds and crate trained. JoJo is a little timid right now, so he needs reassurance that people aren't going to hurt him. Once he warms up to you he won't leave your side.

age: 2 years old

adoption fee: $200

Rescue Group Info...

About Our Rescue Group...

This site supports a small group of people who try to help as many puppies and dogs that have been displaced through no fault of their own. All of the dogs are checked by a vet, altered and updated on all vaccinations prior to going to a home.

We are all volunteers who do the best that we can with the limited funds and resources available to us. We give the potential adopter as much information as we can, including copies of all vet records but we normally do not know the history of the dogs, as they are strays at the pound. Very rarely do we have owner releases. All dogs in our program were minutes away from being put to sleep so the pound could make space for more strays.

To learn more about us please go to
www.mbrohio.com
Come Meet Our Pets...
We will be at Rural King 430 Oberlin Road, Elyria, OH 44035 from 11 - 3 the second Saturday of EVERY month.
Please check our website at www.mbrohio.com for additional locations and events we will be attending.

The dogs listed on this site are located at various foster homes throughout Ohio however. We do not have a shelter therefore anyone wishing to visit one of our dogs must first complete an application and be an approved adopter for that dog.

Please make a note that the majority of the dogs are being kept in Elyria Ohio. We do not transport our dogs, you would need to come to Elyria to meet and possibly adopt.

NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE

Our Adoption Process...
The adoption fee for all dogs listed depends on the breed, age, vet care, cost to pull from the kill shelter, worming medicine, flea medicine, etc. The adoption fee BARELY covers all of the previous mentioned expenses. Please do not ask for us to lower the fee.

Due to recent events we have found it difficult to introduce a dog into a home with children under the age of 4 years old. We are no longer adopting to homes with children 4 years or younger. The ONLY exception that will be made is that the child has in the last 6 months lived with a dog or is currently living with a dog.

You must be a minimum of 21 years old to adopt.

All adopters must fill out an application. Please see listed below an application. You may copy this application, paste into an email, fill it out completely, and send it here to be processed.

Adoption Application

We reserve the right to refuse any applicant for any reason if we feel the needs of the dog will not be properly met or the adoption is not in the best interest of the dog.

Please make sure you completely fill out the application before submitting it to us. Missing information will delay the process and false information will result in your application automatically being denied.

The application and adoption processes are designed to match appropriate homes with appropriate dogs. While many dogs may be attractive to the eye, we are very careful to understand the lifestyle of each adopter since we clearly understand the individual needs of dogs in our care.

We do not ship dogs; we require that the applicant come to meet the dog and us before an adoption will be finalized.

Our goal is to place dogs in happy, forever homes where the adopting party and dogs are both winners.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

JoJo, a Elyria Jack Russell Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
