Tenny's Story...
Tenny is a lady with many hobbies. When you visit our Bucktown branch, you can’t miss this calico beauty prancing around the adoption floor with her favorite gold sparkle ball (not silver) in her mouth. On another occasion, you might entice her to partake in a game of chase with the dragonfly wand. She is also learning to fetch, so expect that skill to be added to her list of hobbies shortly. A girl of refined taste, she’s laid claim to a crinkle tunnel shaped like a ladybug, which will be sure to go home with her. Tenny, short for Tennis Shoe, was initially rescued at a mere 3 weeks of age with her littermates, Gymshoe and Converse. After a rigorous treatment for the ringworm the kittens came in with, Tenny was was adopted at 7 months only to find herself back at Tree House about 9 months later when her adopters moved. Ready for her forever home (ideally filled to the brim with sparkle balls), Tenny is showing off now more than ever. Constantly dancing, playing, and singing, this happy go-lucky girl has a lot of love to give. Her dainty kitten-like meow beckons you to pay her a visit!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Tenny, a Chicago Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Chicago, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Chicago.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chicago already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chicago breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chicago paves the way for another one to be saved.
