"Hello, everyone! My name is JESSICA, and I'm a Beagle/ Chihuahua mix who is looking for a person or family who needs a purely loyal and loving dog. You won't believe how sweet and gentle I am. I'm young at just one year old, but I have a pretty mellow disposition, so I'm not overly energetic. I like to take walks, but I'd be just as happy to sit on your lap and relax. I sure do love those tummy rubs, too! My owner had to leave me at the shelter when he became too ill to care for me, so I'd sure love to find my new forever home just as soon as possible. I'm fairly small, so I'd make a great house dog. I get along nicely with other dogs, and I'd be a wonderful family pet in a home with older, considerate children (I'm a sensitive soul). I'm already house trained, too. I guess you'd say I'm an all-around great dog! Please come visit me at the El Cajon Animal Shelter, then we can get to know each other better in our lovely play yard. About Our Shelter...
We are the Animal Shelter for the City of El Cajon. We also house animals for the City of La Mesa. We take in strays and animals relinquished by their owners from these two City's only. We adopt out the animals that are not claimed by their owners. You do not have to live within the City to adopt an animal from us. We sometimes have animals other than dogs and cats.

We are located in the City of El Cajon which is east of San Diego. 1275 N. Marshall is two blocks north of Fletcher Parkway, Marshall runs parallel with the trolley tracks.

We are open Tuesday thru Saturday 10am to 5pm. The latest we start an adoption is 4:30. We are closed Sundays and Mondays.
Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fee for dogs is $80.00 and cats are $80.00 All other animal adoption fee's are based on the type of animal.

We do an evaluation with you and the animal to be sure that it is the best animal for you. We require that all children in the household under 9 years old be evaluated with the animal and if you are adopting a dog and you currently own a dog, your dog needs to be evaluated with the new dog to be sure they get along.
