Nacho's Story...
Meet Nacho -- Mr. Personality!

If you like cats with giant personalities... cats that act like dogs... cats that want to be always right beside you and involved in everything you do... cats that can have conversations with you... cats that feel everything in the house belongs to them... and cats that are incredibly affectionate... then Nacho is your man!

The personality in this boy is tremendous. We can understand that he will not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those who really enjoy and want an interactive and fun cat, Nacho will fill that position. No matter what, Nacho will make you smile.

Nacho showed up the neighbourhood of a volunteer, and at first, he would run away from us as if his tail was on fire. He was an abandoned cat that had lost his trust in people and it was so sad to see. Slowly, after a few weeks, he got the sense that things were okay and would allow himself to be petted. Soon after, he decided the food is good here and that he really does like people, and that was that... Nacho was rescued!

During his trip to the vet (to be vaccinated and neutered), he talked the entire time he was there. The vet tech said the only quiet time was when he was under and five minutes after he woke up, he start yapping again. You just gotta love this cat!

Nacho gets along fine with other cats. He doesn't really play with them, he just tolerates them... his whole world is his humans. He would also get along fine with a friendly dog after a proper introduction.

Since his rescue, Nacho has insisted on going outside (on nice days), but with the passing of each day, his desire is decreasing and fading away. Ideally, we want him to be an indoor cat so he is safe and protected. His new home should encourage him to stay inside.

His perfect home though would have a backyard and a very watchful eye, as we can predict on nice days, Nacho is going to want to be outside, like during fall leaf cleanup day at his foster home. His foster mom recounts Nacho running back and forth through the leaves while they were being raked. He had a blast. When we told him it was time to come inside, he tried to hide in them so we could not see him. We actually had to go and get him where he was lying down. He pretended he could not walk, so you had to carry him inside... this is Nacho, folks – massive personality!

If you think Nacho would be a great fit in your loving and lifetime committed home, please contact us for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Nacho, a Toronto Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
