Riley is all about adventure. When he’s not wrestling and playing with his foster siblings, he explores the yard looking for new experiences. He likes to collect toys and will run around the room/yard looking for toys that have wandered away from the play area. If another pup takes an interest in his toy he’ll just get up and find another one. However, he LOVES balls, particularly tennis balls because he enjoys chewing on the fuzz. If someone wants his ball, he runs off to chew it in peace.
Not only is Riley playful, he has become quite the cuddle bug and with his soft teddy bear face, he’s hard to resist. He’s not going to be very big, around 30-40lbs, and has shown himself to be quite intelligent having learned to “Sit” before the other fosters. Riley is very treat motivated and will do anything to get one. He’s potty trained & fully crate trained. Riley loves being outside and if you love the outdoors and adventure, he would love to tag along.

Southern Skies Labrador Rescue & Adoption, Inc. (SSLR) is a non-profit dedicated to the rescue and adoption of Labradors and other working dog breeds that have been abandoned at Alabama kill shelters, owner surrenders and strays. We strive to communicate for the voiceless by working closely with local and national animal rescues and other groups for the benefit of animal welfare and to promote changes in our local Alabama laws. We dedicate ourselves to educate and communicate the importance of spaying and neutering your pets to our local and neighboring communities.

Southern Skies Labrador Rescue & Adoption Inc., goal is to place homeless dogs into loving homes and families. We take special care to match the right home with the right dog, ensuring a lifetime of love for both the pet and the adopter. You are required to fill out a pre-adoption application to get qualified, provide vet and other references, allow a home inspection and sign adoption agreement and pay an adoption donation.
We rescue out of North Alabama and serve adopters locally including; Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia and Northeast areas.
