My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Suleiman
3 Year Old Male Brown Mackeral w/ White Tabby Maine Coon

COURTESY POST

Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue is helping facilitate the placement of this cat. We take no responsibility for the cat's health and medical records. It is the responsibility of the owner and adopter to discuss this.

Suleiman is a handsome 13+ pound boy. He was found in the neighborhood where he had been living for 2 weeks. A neighbor's house was foreclosed on and it was suspected that he had been an indoor cat in that home, that the people didn't want to take him to the local shelter so they left him there, hoping a neighbor would care for him. Luckily, that happened. The problem is that Suleiman is highly stressed in the home he is living in.

Suleiman came into his new 3 cat home friendly, happy and ready to settle in, BUT the owner's alpha male decided to sit outside his door, hissing, growling and lunging at the door. Suleiman has become tense and is showing stress behaviors. Also the owner has little time with Suleiman since she works long hours. Suleiman has been fine with others when he has had visitors and at the vets office. We feel that Suleiman is a great boy, but he would be happiest in a quieter home with no young children and cat experienced owners and possibly no other cats.

Suleiman likes to play with catnip stuffed cat toys, jump for peacock feathers and go up and down his cat tree. When he plays, he rolls around on his back exposing his magnificent belly, however, he doesn't like to have his belly touched. Suleiman also likes to climb into boxes, bags and cabinets if left open, but he is careful not to make a mess. Suleiman is regal and independent -- not the goofy sort at all. He is very well-behaved and loves his sisal scratching post which he consistently uses instead of furniture. He comes up and rubs against you and likes to be petted. While he is quiet, he's not aloof -- he does like company and wants to be near you even if not being petted or touched. Suleiman is not needy or demanding and can entertain himself when he needs to.

Suleiman will come to you in excellent health, neutered, current on vaccinations, FeLV/FIV negative and microchipped. He has no litter box issues and is a good eater. Suleiman is located in Davis.

If you would like more information on Suleiman, please call Karen at 707-301-6425 or by email at k.pahler@comcast.net. Please note that Suleiman is not in a Purebreds Plus Cat Rescue foster home but residing with his caretaker who is placing him. Adoption fee applies.
