Maude's Story...
Why Choose me?
Poor Maude is new to the pound and absolutely terrified. She may not look it in her pictures, but she’s too exhausted being scared to look scared, if you know what I mean. She is in every way a nice girl, showing no aggression whatsoever, she’s just shut down. One of the volunteers took her into a small room to sit with her quietly and Maude just laid down, no doubt trying to go to a happy place in her mind The volunteer found out that Maude was found with a hound mix, and when she brought him into the room, Maude came alive! She licked him all over the face and practically danced for joy. That’s the real Maude! Which must make him her Harold – remember that movie? Unfortunately, because Harold isn’t neutered, they can’t let him share a kennel with Maude. Volunteers and staff will work with Maude to try and make her more comfortable – she’s such a soft, sweet girl, we’re looking forward to petting her to pieces.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maude, a Athens German Shepherd Dog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shepherd Dog for sale in Athens, or seeking a German Shepherd Dog dog from a breeder in Athens.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Athens already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Athens breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shepherd Dog breeders who help with German Shepherd Dog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Athens paves the way for another one to be saved.
