Baker's Story...
Baker is only 30 pounds at 5 months old, so he'll probably top out at around 50-60 lbs. He is a sweetheart and had a rough start in life, left on a porch to die and infested with fleas. He is now recovered from that and like all of our dogs he is neutered, fully vaccinated and up to date on heartworm and flea/tick treatment, and micro-chipped. He gets along great with other dogs and loves to chase balls and toys. He is crate-trained and has been around cats. Be sure to click on the video link next to his photos! It shows Baker and my other foster dogs visiting with a volunteer.

Baker's adoption fee is $400. Please call or email for more info or an application.

About Our Rescue Group...
Quiet Corner Dog Adoptions provides a foster home for dogs coming from a rescue in TN. We specialize in smaller dogs under 40 pounds, and the owner of QC Dogs is a professional dog trainer.

Our dogs come from McNairy County Humane Society in central Tennessee. MCHS works to help reduce the population of unwanted pets by educating the public on responsible pet ownership and financially assisting those in need with the cost of spaying and neutering their pets. They also accept puppies and dogs who have been abandoned through no fault of their own. These wonderful dogs, of all breed mixes and sizes, are so grateful to be adopted!

In June '07, The New York Times came to McNairy County and did a story on the number of unwanted pets in TN. Here's the link: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/30/us/30dogs.html

The McNairy County Humane Society operates entirely on donations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Baker, a Chaplin Hound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) for sale in Chaplin, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) puppy from a breeder in Chaplin.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chaplin already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chaplin breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Retriever (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chaplin paves the way for another one to be saved.
