Calvin's Story...
Calvin is a strikingly handsome medium-hair buff tabby. He is difficult to describe because he has so many good qualities. He is energetic and playful, while being very well behaved and friendly. He is wonderfully affectionate without being needy or demanding. He loves people and gets along with other cats. He loves to socialize, but will blissfully amuse himself with a Turbo Scratcher or a squeaky/chirping mouse toy. He also enjoys interactive play with things like toy mice on string, feather sticks, and laser pointers.

We rescued Calvin in early January and suspect that he was abandoned outside. Luckily for him, he found his way to the front porch of one of our volunteers who immediately took him in. He was starving and freezing, but as soon as she picked Calvin up and brought him in from the cold, he proceeded to purr non-stop. Calvin is still quite thin, but no longer the scruffy ball of skin and bones he once was. He is gradually putting on some good weight, eating high quality holistic food. He is a healthy boy.

He came around very quickly when first placed in his foster home. He did not hide at all and was very curious from the start. He is a confident cat and it did not take long for him to make friends. (He is best buds with two other friendly kittens in his foster home.) Calvin is gentle when cuddling with his humans. (He has never clawed or bitten.) He is great with being picked up and handled. He loves getting scratched all over his head and neck, and adores getting brushed. He will happily purr himself to sleep on your lap if you let him.

He is not a super chatty kitten, like some can be. However, he sometimes likes to have long conversations with his humans, like when they are doing chores. His foster family says it is like he is showing a genuine interest and asking questions about what they are doing, kind of like, “What's this and what's that?” It's really adorable and it doesn't hurt that he has the sweetest little meow.

Calvin uses his scratching post regularly, so your furniture is safe with this guy. He is also good with his litter box. He is great at covering up his business afterwards, albeit a little enthusiastic, so he will need a covered litter box. The only frustration you may have with him is taking a flash photo in which he does not blink. (His foster mom had to take over 100 photos just to get the twelve photos you see here. Haha!) Overall, Calvin is a super sweet boy. He has great looks, excellent behaviour, and a personality to match. His foster family says that they will be very sad to see him go, he is such an extraordinary kitty.

Calvin thrives with companionship. A home with another friendly cat or with someone who can provide him with adequate attention and stimulation is highly recommended to keep him a happy and healthy boy.

Calvin has been vet checked. He has been neutered, vaccinated, and fully de-wormed.

He is available for immediate adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Calvin, a Toronto Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Toronto, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in Toronto.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Toronto already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Toronto breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Toronto paves the way for another one to be saved.
