Jake's Story...
Jake has an immediate effect on people. First you smile, then you plop down beside him, and then your blood pressure lowers! He's a gentle little guy, approximately 40 pounds, and a joy to have around. He's great with children and other dogs. He doesn't seem to react to cats at all although we've only seen him around cats one time. We rescued him from a shelter and he adapted to a busy foster family without a blink. His companions now are a four year old girl, numerous dogs, a few chickens and pigs, and others! About Our Rescue Group...
Friends of Rescue is a certified 501(c)(3) organization consisting of volunteers who are devoted to saving shelter dogs that are in danger of euthanasia. Rural Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama and Tennessee shelters have a constant overflow of dogs, little funding, and limited space. Once the dogs arrive at the shelter, they have very little time. It is our goal to help save these adoptable dogs and adopt them out to loving families. Although our priorities are the retriever breeds, we are not limiting ourselves to retrievers because we know that there are many great dogs that need our help. We are NOT professional trainers or animal behaviorists; simply volunteers who are trying to save these dogs from euthanasia.
