Jake's Story...
Jake has an immediate effect on people. First you smile, then you plop down beside him, and then your blood pressure lowers! He's a gentle little guy, approximately 40 pounds, and a joy to have around. He's great with children and other dogs. He doesn't seem to react to cats at all although we've only seen him around cats one time. We rescued him from a shelter and he adapted to a busy foster family without a blink. His companions now are a four year old girl, numerous dogs, a few chickens and pigs, and others! This guy takes everything in stride easily and we think he'd fit in with just about any type of family. To learn more about Jake, please email INFO@FORrescue.net. Jake is fostered in Huntsville, AL.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Homewood Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) dog from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) breeders who help with Basset Hound/Hound (Unknown Type) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
