Meet Gentle Ben! Gentle Ben has had a tough life. He came to us after being abandoned on the streets and having been attacked by other dogs, several times. And yet, Gentle Ben remains one of the sweetest, happiest, loving dogs you will ever meet. He is truly a gentle old soul. Initially, because of his painful past, Ben was very fearful of other dogs, and needed to be the only dog in a home. But thanks to the patience, love, and support of ITP, he has overcome his fear and even wants to play with other dogs now! At 9 years of age, Gentle Ben deserves to be spoiled and loved and treated as the prince he is. He walks great on the leash and while he enjoys playing with you, Gentle Ben is also a bit of a couch potato. He is happy to either lay quietly by your side or curl up next to you on the couch. Gentle Ben loves people and greets everyone calmly, respectfully, and with a huge pittie smile and a wagging tail. Because of his lower energy and sweet disposition, Gentle Ben would make a great addition to either a family with children or an older retired couple. He has waited far too long for a family to fall in love with his kind, beautiful soul. Come meet Gentle Ben today....and create a Happy Ending together!

Rescue Group Info...
We are located in the San Diego area and pull dogs from southern California shelters and we assist families in rehoming their pets so that they don't have to go to a shelter.
I started doing rescue because I couldn't stand to see adoptable dogs being euthanized due to lack of an immediate home. I knew that I could find them good homes.
See our pets at www.ItsThePits.org
Potential families are asked to complete or Adoption Application before visiting our dogs. We introduce you and your family including any other dogs/cats in your family to our adoptable dogs. If the meeting is a good match we will schedule a home check to ensure that the home is a good match for the pet that you have selected. You will then be asked to complete our Adoption Agreement and to finalize the adoption there will be a processing fee to adopt a pet from us. All proceeds go directly back to help support our rescue and there are no paid employees so all fees are used for our pets waiting to be adopted.
