Bonnie's Story...
Bonnie is a super sweet lab mix that was recently rescued from a rural animal shelter. She is about one year old and her and Jackie are sisters that were dumped at the shelter when they were about 3 months old. Both girls are very smart and just waiting for a forever home to show what great gals they are! Bonnie, as you can see, is super loving and she thinks she might be a lap dog. She is living in a foster home with other dogs and is doing just fine with them. If you would like to meet Bonnie, please complete an application at www.henricohumane.org.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bonnie, a Richmond Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
