Mary's Story...
Meet Mama Mary. Mary came from a local shelter just a week before she gave birth to her six little ones. Mary was beyond thrilled when we told her she would NEVER have to give birth again. The gray on her face might mislead you to think she is older than she is. Mary is only about 4-5 years old and full of spunk – just check out her video. This little girl is quirky, in the cutest ways. Mary is totally housebroken. She absolutely LOVES to eat, we mean LOVES to eat. Riding in cars is something she truly enjoys, as well as just getting to be outside and soak up some rays. Mary has great recall with her foster mom and while she will need time to bond to her new owner, we suspect this great skill will transfer easily. She adores being loved on and will sit for as long as you will spend time petting her. But she also does great just hanging around the house by herself. She gets along great with her foster brother and sisters – which include dogs and cats. Mary has just finished nursing her pups and will be fixed prior to adoption. She will also be fully vaccinated and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $200 and she is being fostered in Huntsville, AL. For an application, please email us at today – Mary cannot wait to meet you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mary, a Homewood Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
