Hi, I’m Nelson Mandela, the 11th President of South Africa between the years 1994-1999. OOPS, wrong Nelson. Let’s start over. Hi, I’m Nelson, a male Rat Terrier/Blue Heeler mix born approximately 8/05. I am up to date on shots, have been neutered and tested negative for heartworms. I am yet another victim of financial hardship. I’ve recently been uprooted and had to leave the only family I’ve ever known. Everything was so routine in my life (which is a good thing for dogs). I knew just what time breakfast and dinner would be served, which bowl was mine, what day bath day was, which of my fur siblings liked to play and which ones liked to be left alone, etc. Now all that has changed. The people at CAAWS asked me what I would like in my next home. I want a family that will never ever let me go again. One that takes me with them through the good times and bad. If things get rough, I’ll eat less. When times are tight, I don’t need toys, I appreciate special bonding time between owner and pet. I get along with other dogs, but am scared and nervous around children. Since I’ve never really learned to walk on a leash, I will need a fenced in back yard when I’m out doing my business. Other than these things, I just want someone to love and love me back.
