Hi, my name is Gypsy. I am a 6 year old pit bull mix and I weigh 44 lbs. Being an older gal I'm not asking for a whole lot. I don't have all of that energy that I used to have when I was younger. I enjoy going for walks, going for car rides and I'm not too old to say I still love playing with toys. But most of all just feeling like I am safe. You see, I have always been looking for a home to call my own. I often dream about just getting cozy on a blanket next to my owner watching a little tv. But I don't like to live in the past and think about what I haven't had. I just know there is a someone out there for me who will be patient and kind and loving. I would be best as the only pet where all of the attention will be on me. If you have lots of love to give, I am the girl looking for you!

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
We are open to the public for adoptions (or just come to visit the animals) as follows:
Tuesday - Friday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Adoptions stop @ 4:30 PM)
Saturday 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM (adoptions stop @ 3:30 PM)
CLOSED SUNDAY AND MONDAY
