Chablis's Story...

Chablis, a big Maine Coon cross, has stolen the hearts of many volunteers at the center and it’s not just because he is gorgeous. When placed in foster, three volunteers insisted on visiting rights. Chablis wasn’t fond of being in a cage so was pretty grumpy. Add the fact that he came in with some matted fur and you have an unhappy guy. Eventually, he showed his true colours and is now in a foster home where he has flourished. His coat is 100% improved and so is his disposition. He sleeps at the end of the bed, and respectfully waits until you wake before coming to the head of the bed, purring, head butting, wanting to be petted, and lying beside you for a snooze. He’s turned into a purring lap cat. Chablis would do very well in most homes that do not have young children, and would prefer a forever home that will give him some supervised access to the outdoors. We think Chablis will do well with other cats, judging by the reaction we’ve seen so far. He loves company, and when he's awake, he'll follow you around the house. This wonderfully friendly cat will make someone a good companion.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chablis, a Vancouver Maine Coon cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maine Coon for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Maine Coon cat from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maine Coon breeders who help with Maine Coon rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
