Mervin is a super-sweetie who will reward you with love and affection and will be a really great kitty if you are willing to work with him and show patience. This is one uber-handsome young boy with his long silky fur, cute white collar & boots, and huge fluffy tail that looks like an enormous feather. From the size of his paws, we think he's going to be a big boy! Although you rarely hear it, Mervin has the cutest little high-pitched meow.

Mervin and his siblings were rescued from a feral colony. Although he was extremely skittish and shy at first, he's making amazing progress, especially since he's only been with me a few weeks! In the safety of his foster-room, he now loves to be scratched and petted and is starting to enjoy being picked up and hugged, or sitting in a lap. He's very much a kitten and loves to play, especially with his wand toy with the suede tassel.

He's still VERY, VERY nervous around new people, but in a quiet, adult-only home with patient cat-people who will provide the time and structure he needs to settle in, Mervin is going to make a truly awesome companion!

Mervin is a nice clean cat with excellent litter box habits. He has long fur, but it doesn't seem to get matted or require brushing. He's already been neutered so can immediately settle into his new home. He gets along well with other kitties but definitely requires an outgoing, well-adjusted buddy or he can be a little too assertive.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mervin, a Vancouver Domestic Longhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Vancouver, or seeking a Domestic Longhair kitten from a breeder in Vancouver.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Vancouver already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Vancouver breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Vancouver paves the way for another one to be saved.
