Loka and her sibling Cherokee (although we are not too sure they are siblings as Cherokee looks slightly older than Loka but the shelter we pulled them from said they were and the same person surrendered them to the shelter) were rescued from a kill shelter in NC. They are currently in temporary foster there. We would like to bring them to NJ when we can find a foster for both siblings. We will update as we know more about them.
Loka is more outgoing. She was probably born around November 2012. She is a friendly little pup and when dancing around your feet, you can hear her snapping her jaws closed, like many times. She is not trying to bite while doing this, just snapping her jaws closed over and over, she is a snapper! She is about 35 pounds and gets a long with other dogs. She will make a great family member.
Neither have pottied in the house. Both will make excellent family members. Both look pretty healthy and have nice costs.
Update from foster mom 11/13/13
Loka is a very personable dog, growing up with pit bulls and huskies. She is vocal, barks at various things, nothing major, just a talker. She is very friendly, gets along with all my dogs. I don’t have cats here so can’t speak to that. She is not destructive like huskies although she can get into stuff since the others all do. She is crate trained. It is hard to say about house training since I work 12 hour shifts, and some of the dogs are in the house and being with smart dogs, they learn that they can’t hold it that long and so they don’t try to. She is a smart girl and would learn very quickly.
She is indeed smart too, and would make a great family dog. She does very well with the pups I had. Loka plays with them very well, doesn’t admonish like the adult females. She does really well entertaining the puppies and plays with them, runs in the yard and is really a great dog to have. She is now taller than my pit pup Allie, not as big is most of the bigger huskies, not that that helps in getting an idea of how big she is, just a medium size dog. She has silky, soft hair brown and black, marked like a rottie but does NOT have the bone structure of a rottie, probably of the hunting dog variety.
