Rocky's Story...
Don't be fooled by the tough name - Rocky is a lover, not a fighter! A Shih Tzu born in July 2011, Rocky was surrendered by a family with small children who were a little too "hands on" with him. Rocky is an affectionate dog but has shown us that he will come looking for it on his time, perhaps as a result of what he endured in his previous life. He gets along well with the other two dogs in his foster home, one small, one medium and both male. Rocky is clean in the house and enjoys going for walks. He is not a particularly vocal dog and could do well in a condo or apartment.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rocky, a Rigaud Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Rigaud, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Rigaud.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rigaud already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rigaud breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rigaud paves the way for another one to be saved.
