Ewokie's Story...
Ewokie is the sweetest little guy, who does not let his handicap stop him. Ewokie has figured out the pet door and is outside every chance he gets. Ewokie is almost blind &, although he can see some shadows, he will need eye drops twice a day . He is about 6 to 8 inches tall and I would guess about 4 to 5 pounds. We are not sure how old but somewhere between 10 and 13 years of age. Ewokie loves to run outside and follows his foster everywhere. He gets scared when you try to pick him up so you have to be slow and gentle with him. Ewokie was a puppymill dog and then just left in an abandoned trailer with other dogs to fend for himself. He is such a sweet dog and deserves a great forever home. If you are interested in meeting Ewokie, please fill out a statement of interest form @ www.alternativehumanesociety.com (under the ADOPT tab).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ewokie, a Bellingham Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Bellingham, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Bellingham.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bellingham already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bellingham breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bellingham paves the way for another one to be saved.
