My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

March 2013 update: Red has the sophisticated nickname Redmond which suits him well. He is so sweet and loves everybody. He is great with the cat in his foster home - he is curious and likes to sniff the cat and even got swatted but Redmond just looks at him like, "what was that for?" and walks away. Smarty pants Red has mastered "sit" and is 90% of the way on "stay". "Off" is the hardest one because he is so excited to say hello to everyone but he'll get there! He loves to climb in your lap and be held.

Red does like to gulp his food so his foster family is using a specially-designed bowl to help him slow that down. What a cutie!

Red's New England foster mom says,, "This is one happy fun little dog who is SO affectionate it is unbelievable. He gives kisses and hugs to everyone he meets. He is wonderful with dogs of all sizes from our 80 lb aussie to our 16 lb foster cutie Mabel. We are working on commands with him. He is extremely gentle when taking treats and is already figuring out how to take care of his duties outside. We have been calling him Redmond because it seems to fit him better. We think he may be a Jack Russell/dachshund mix but whatever he is, he is going to make someone a great dog. It's hard to get good pictures because he doesn't sit still for long and his tail NEVER stops wagging!"

Red is also living with a cat. When they met, Red and the cat touched noses. Red gave him a funny look and walked away. He is fine with children too. He is a small sweetie who likes to be on the go! Red is 1-2 years old and is sweet, healthy, and ready to find his forever family who likes to have fun and receive cutie kisses!

To apply to adopt this dog, please visit our web site to access our application and learn more about adoption through Lucky Pup, www.luckypuprescue.org.

Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.
