Hula's Story...
Hula, a beautiful (red highlights) brown tabby, was born exactly on April 18, 2012.

Hula likes to "give kisses" (lick) - so might not do in household with young children. She is very gentle - has never, ever growled, hissed, or cried at another kitty - even if abruptly approached. She is very sensitive - she was adopted and returned because she never warmed up to the husband so we think she should go to a female adopter only. (If you come to an adoption event, she will be the one who looks absolutely the picture of misery.) She is totally used to dogs, too.

Adoption events are held at the Fair Oaks Petco (Madison at Hazel) on Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4pm.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Hula, a North Highlands Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in North Highlands, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in North Highlands.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in North Highlands already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a North Highlands breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in North Highlands paves the way for another one to be saved.
