Squirrel's Story...
Hi, I'm Squirrel! I was found as a stray and am so glad that Friends for Life had room for me - the big cars honking horns at me were really scary! I'm a fun guy but I am active and need an active family. Want a running partner? I'm your dog! Want someone to go hiking? I'm your dog! Want someone to accompany you on long walks? I'm your dog! Get the idea? I'm your dog! When these pictures were taken it was rainy, so I'm a bit wet (but I had a blast!). My friends were trying to take pictures of me and I kept getting distracted, which is how I got my name. I am sometimes a little hesitant around men I don't know, and my friends at Friends for Life are having me meet lots of different people to get me more comfortable, but you'll never know if I'm right for you or not if you don't come and see me!

About Our Rescue Group...
Friends for Life Animal Rescue is a registered nonprofit, volunteer-based, no-kill organization. Started in 1993 Friends for Life maintains an adoption center for it's rescued animals, a low-cost spay and neuter program (grant-funded), and a network of foster homes. Friends for Life also attends off-site locations to adopt the homeless cats and dogs and the organization is always looking for help. Friends for Life does not have a veterinarian on site or on staff. We utilize discounted services of veterinarians kind enough to do so for our rescued animals.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Squirrel, a Gilbert Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Gilbert, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Gilbert.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gilbert already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gilbert breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gilbert paves the way for another one to be saved.
