My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Tanner is a 3-year-old golden mix that is just as adorable as can be! His fox-like face and his sweet personality will have you at hello. He is a very easy pup. He is friendly, playful and he loves people and other dogs (he seems to prefer humans just a bit more than other dogs, but loves playing with friends of the human and canine variety). He is house trained, has had free reign in his foster home and has not had a single accident or chewed on a single thing outside of "dog-friendly" area of bones, balls, Kongs, etc. Tanner is petite, probably weighing about 44 pounds (he is still a little on the skinny side, and could use some bulking up), and is a big cuddler. He pulls a little bit on the leash and tends to bark at unfamiliar dogs and men that approach on the sidewalk on walks, but he warms up quickly and doesn't have a mean or aggressive thought in his head or bone in his body. He is a pretty flexible dog, and his foster family thinks that he will fit well in a variety of family types, adults only though please and Tanner would prefer a home with another canine friend. We are unsure about his attitude towards cats, but think he would probably get along fine with them. Think Tanner might be a fit for you?

Please note: Tanner recently underwent the first of two hip surgeries. He has bi-lateral hip dysplasia and GRFR is paying for FHO femoral head ostectomy) surgery. Tanner's 2nd hip procedure is scheduled for early June. Tanner would love to go through this process in his forever home. Recovery from FHO is fairly straight forward with at home range of motion exercises and short walks as prescribed. Please let us know if you are interested in going through this process with Tanner - it's a bonding experience beyond compare.
