Dixie's Story...
Howdy folks! I wanna teach y’all a song… or at least have you whistling Dixie!
Come on down to FDNL, meet a sweet little southern belle Miss Dixie, Miss Dixie!
Sweet as a pitcher ol’ peach tea, lovely little gal that you wanna meet Miss Dixie, Miss Dixie!
If you have a space in your heart, let this little girl be that part Miss Dixie, Miss Dixie!
Well wasn’t that fun! How many dogs you know that have their own theme song? I am a waggin', wigglin', 11 month old pup and I just keep thinking'- there are sooo many things I want to learn! So I am hoping someone out there will have the time and patience to raise me right… I always have relied on the kindness of strangers…and so far it's paid off. I was rescue from the streets, birthed and cared fro some puppies and was given the opportunity to come here to FDNL..all by the grace of strangers. Nobody's a stranger for long in my eyes though, I just love meeting new people and making new friends. I am doing really well in my crate training too, and I get along fantastically with the other dogs here. Do you know that I also enjoy the company of children? Any make or model from toddler to sassy teen, I think they are just swell! So let me put a song in your heart, I think you know the words! 11 months old-45lbs. My adoption fee is $200 and includes; spay, microchip, 1 month pet health insurance, reduced cost training class, free vet exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Portland Rottweiler dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler for sale in Portland, or seeking a Rottweiler dog from a breeder in Portland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Portland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Portland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler breeders who help with Rottweiler rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Portland paves the way for another one to be saved.
