Sis's Story...
This is a courtesy posting. We have not met or evaluated this dog. Please contact the person listed at the end of this posting for more information.

Sis is a lovely Catahoula/pit bull mix, about 2 years old and weighing about 45-50 pounds, who was recently rescued from the Shasta Lake Animal Shelter. Her rescuer picked her up on behalf of someone who wanted to adopt her but has now decided that she is just going to foster Sis until she finds her forever home. (Note: Sis has been renamed Lulu, but Grateful Dogs Rescue currently has a dog named Lulu so we're using her shelter name in this posting to avoid confusion!)

This very sweet girl got along very well with all the other dogs at the shelter and is getting along well with the dogs in her foster home, but she does like to chase the cats. Sis is a lover and a cuddly lap dog. She walks very well on leash and has learned basic commands -- sit, stay, down -- and is working on more commands. Sis is quite striking with her unique markings and big soulful hazel eyes and lots of eyeliner!

Sis is spayed, up-to-date on her shots, and ready to find her forever home! Her ideal adopter has breed knowledge, is patient and has time to work with her and care for her. If you think you might be that person, please contact Lynda at or 650-291-2007.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sis, a San Francisco Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Pit Bull Terrier for sale in San Francisco, or seeking a Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in San Francisco.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Francisco already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Francisco breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Catahoula Leopard Dog/American Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Francisco paves the way for another one to be saved.
