Dixie's Story...
Hi, I am Dixie. My owner had to give me up because she could not spend any time with me.
I am so glad Bedford Humane Society had an open foster home to take me in. I am totally up to date medically and waiting to go to my new forever home. I am only 8 months old and do not think I will get any bigger so I am the perfect size for an indoor companion. I have learned to walk on a leash and I am also crate trained. I love to be outside and watch the birds fly by. I get so excited that I start running in circles as if I am chasing my tail. If you are looking for a medium size, sweet puppy, then I am the one for you.

If you would like to meet Dixie please go to http://bhsva.org/adoptions-home.htm to fill out an adoption application.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dixie, a Bedford Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Bedford, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Bedford.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Bedford already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Bedford breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Bedford paves the way for another one to be saved.
