Yukon's Story...
How to describe Yukon? The words big galoot, dufus, Baby Huey, goofball, and many others come to mind. No matter which adjectives you use, Yukon is amazing! This large (not huge) boy is affectionate, silly and smart. And he's very very quiet! If you were to ask him he would probably tell you he thinks of himself as a lap dog.

Only around one year old, and maybe 55 pounds, Yukon does great travelling in a car, and is even great in his crate for sleeping all night long. He loves to play with other dogs too, but we have only had him with the small dogs in our foster home due to his size and strength (which he has no idea that he has). Yukon has not been tested with cats yet, so if you have a cat be sure to let us know so we can check.

Yukon is powerful and, though he does very good on leash, he needs the person walking him to let him know they are in control. He simply forgets himself and has to be reminded once in a while to heel.

Please email us at tmabrescue@gmail.com for an application and/or more information on this gorgeous young boy.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Yukon, a Oakley Rottweiler/Treeing Walker Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rottweiler/Treeing Walker Coonhound for sale in Oakley, or seeking a Rottweiler/Treeing Walker Coonhound dog from a breeder in Oakley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rottweiler/Treeing Walker Coonhound breeders who help with Rottweiler/Treeing Walker Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakley paves the way for another one to be saved.
