My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sadie
Female Shih Tzu, charcoal and white
Weight: 13#
Date of Birth: January 1, 2007
Adoption fee: $275

Sadie came to us when her family lost their home. She had spent all 5 years of her life with this couple and another small dog. It hasn't taken her very long to adjust to her new environment and she's a super-sweet little girl.

Sadie is housetrained and fairly quiet. She enjoys the company of other dogs and adores people. She's interested in toys but hasn't played with them much. She's perfectly content to follow her housemates around to see what's happening.

She often takes naps in her open wire crate; she might have been crated in her previous home. She is crated when her foster mom needs to run errands, and will sometimes bark a little after being crated. Sadie rides well in the car. She curls up and falls asleep.

Sadie is obedient and affectionate. She likes to sleep with her people, so make room in your bed. If you have another small companion dog for her to hang out with, that's even better. We don't know if Sadie has been around young children. For this reason, she will only be adopted to a family with children/grandchildren over age 10. Sadie requires a structural fenced yard where she can explore and play. When she needs to go outside, she will come to you and make muffled noises. She understands "go outside" and "go potty" and is praised when she follows through.

Grain-free foods are the first choice for Shih Tzu because they sometimes have allergies. Sadie eats Taste of the Wild and asks for more. (She does need to gain a little weight.)

This little girl has a very pleasant, easygoing personality and has been well-loved. She's looking for someone to love her again.
