Jill's Story...
Meet Jill – When Jill was found she was running the streets with her sister Jackie in Greater East End Houston. They were both starving, thirsty and had not been taken care of properly. Barrio Dogs completely vetted Jill, along with her sister Jackie.

Jill is approximately 3 years old, she is up to date on her vaccines and has been spayed. She would love to have a home with her sister Jackie, but understands if you only have room for one. Please consider fostering or adopting this sweet girl. If interested, please email:

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jill, a Houston Wheaten Terrier/Schnauzer (Standard) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Wheaten Terrier/Schnauzer (Standard) for sale in Houston, or seeking a Wheaten Terrier/Schnauzer (Standard) dog from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Wheaten Terrier/Schnauzer (Standard) breeders who help with Wheaten Terrier/Schnauzer (Standard) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
