Other Pets at Shelter...
|Breed:||Domestic Shorthair||Color:||Tiger Striped||Age:||Adult|
I am one of the cats brought to a NYC shelter right before Hurricane Sandy. After the storm, they were so crowded they were going to euthanize me. A shelter up here brought me upstate and asked AnimaLovers to help me find a home. Although I hated the cage at the shelter (it was cramped and too noisy!!) and was quite grumbly there, at home I’m very outgoing and friendly. I come when I’m called and I love to be petted and talked to. I settled in at my foster home right away – no shyness for me! As you can tell by my size, I’m not very high energy, but I’m EXCELLENT at relaxing and being mellow! I would be a wonderful companion for someone who’d like a low-key buddy to relax with. My foster had me on a weight control diet; it helped a little bit, but I’m just a big girl with a lot of love to give.
I’m not great with other cats, although I can tolerate one at a time if I have enough space, but I’d REALLY prefer to be an only. Take me home so we can bond while watching TV on the couch!! Please call 448-5468, and press 1 to meet me.
Rescue Group Info...
AnimaLovers was founded in 1995 by a small group of friends who wanted to provide needy cats and dogs in the Capital District of New York with a better way to find their way to safety and new lives. As of 2011, AnimaLovers is serving cats, only. AnimaLovers's mission is to:
* To provide housing, veterinary care, and adoption for unwanted, abandoned, injured, or stray cats;
* To educate adopters, as well as the general public, about the health and training needs of our companion animals;
* To promote spaying and neutering as an efficient and humane means of animal population control; and
* To advocate for legislation that will prevent cruelty to animals.
In addition, AnimaLovers has expanded beyond the boundaries of cat and dog rescue and adoption to meet the needs of other animals as well by creating programs to help families keep their companion animals healthy by providing low cost spay/neuter services and emergency veterinary care.
