Lucy's Story...
About 7 years ago I wandered into the Geneseo Animal Shelter. My stay was short as they found me a wonderful furever home. My person recently passed away so here I am back at the shelter. I only plan on staying long enough for them to find me another wonderful furever home. I know they will! I don’t remember my mom or dad but I think one of them may have been a Maine Coon. I have the beautiful long soft coat, you should see my plumed tail and I have the cutest tufts of fur sticking out from between all my toes and ears. I’m not too fond of all the cats here but I think if my new home has one or two cats I will try to make friends. I am ready for something new…aren’t you? POSTED FEBRUARY 9, 2013.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Geneseo Domestic Longhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Longhair for sale in Geneseo, or seeking a Domestic Longhair cat from a breeder in Geneseo.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Geneseo already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Geneseo breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Longhair breeders who help with Domestic Longhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Geneseo paves the way for another one to be saved.
