My story

Hi, my name is Maverick. I am a sort-of-shy boy, about 3 years old. I've moved in with a really nice foster family that lets me come in and watch TV and supervise while my foster dad works on his computer stuff. I love to be inside with my foster family! I am living with another foster dog, she is very picky about her friends, and she LIKES me. She doesn't get along with just anybody, so I guess that means I have a special way about me. We play and play and play until we are both so tired, then we rest up and play again! Having another dog around that knows the ropes has been very beneficial for me, since I didn't have any training at all from the guy that owned me when I was born. My foster family is teaching me that human contact is a good thing, but I am still apprehensive about quick movements and unexpected sounds. When the kind people at the shelter in Montana got me, I was nearly dead from starvation, so needless to say I am treat motivated! I'll do just about anything for a treat! I've gained weight and look quite handsome if I do say so myself. Would you have time in your life for me? I'd sure love to be a permanent part of someone's home.

Maverick is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all inoculations. He does not have a proven history with small animals (cats or small dogs), and we don't recommend a family with children younger than 8 (once again because there is no proven history). Another friendly dog in the household would be best, and a tall, securely fenced yard is mandatory.
