Sarah's Story...
My name is Sarah #368 and I am under 2 years old and weigh 4 pounds 11 ounces. I am white with a few black spots & am a long coat. I have had my teeth cleaned and my Rabies shot. Sarah is a special little girl who through no fault of her own was nearly a feral dog when we took her in. She had lived her life without much human interaction so therefore she is terrified of most people. Sarah will need a very special human that is willing to spend the time and effort to get her to trust you. She has been in my home about a month & she LOVES me but I still cannot just reach down & pick her up unless I corner her which I don’t like to do often. She does jump up on my chair and gets up on the back of it & reaches around to give me kisses & now she will even come to my chest & let me rub & scratch her & she loves it, but she is still a bit leary. She is very fearful of men & will leave the room if my husband walks in; if he is sitting in his chair then it is no problem. She is doing great about going potty outside if she is able to get out. She loves being outside to play & bask in the sun. She would like another canine companion to show her the ropes as that is how she has learned most of the things she has learned so far. Sarah LOVES to run & play chase with another canine friend; you just see a white streak zooming around the yard. I will require a fenced yard because with her fears, if she ever got loose, you would not catch her. No children for Sarah because she needs a very calm environment so she can feel secure. IF you have the love and patience to work with Sarah, she will be well worth the effort; I am really enjoying her. I might add that if you see her at outreaches you will not see the real dog because she will not be in her safe environment but you need to look beyond and visualize her in your home, feeling safe & loved in a few weeks. Sarah’s adoption fee is $250. Please contact foster mom, Carol in Mount Vernon, WA at digsdogs@frontier.com or paulab10@yahoo.com for more about Me.

About Our Rescue Group...
We are a group of volunteers that take in unwanted, abandoned or homeless Chihuahuas and Chihuahua mixes. We take care of any Vet needs they may have and evaluate them as to temperament and likes and dislikes. We then match people to dogs and after completing our adoption process we send the dogs to their Forever Homes where they will be loved and valued as a family member.

We operate on donations and always have a need for things like leashes, harnesses, dishes, high quality dog food, beds, blankets and most importantly FOSTER HOMES!

***ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE***

We organized in 2005 and CR&R is registered as a non-profit charitable organization in Washington State & has Federal 501(c)(3) STATUS. We have successfully re-homed over 250 dogs!

Come Meet Our Pets...
"In every tiny body there is a mighty soul worth saving"

Please contact each foster home where a dog lives that you are interested in to make an appointment to meet them. We participate in various events throughout the year where we show off our adoptable dogs.

Our Adoption Process...
Our adoption fees vary depending on the age and health of the dogs. We require that an adoption application be completed with at least two personal references and one Vet reference. We also do home checks to be sure the dog will go to a safe environment. Our Adoption Contract assures that the dogs will be cared for and if they cannot remain with the new family they MUST be returned to us.
We Serve the Following Cities, Towns, and/or Counties...
