Dakota's Story...

Meet Dakota.  She is Geo's sister.  Dakota is only 4 yrs old and is a Beagle mix.  Dakota is super smart and knows all kinds of neat tricks.  She will stand and turn, high five and even knows how to pray. Right now she prays for a forever home with her sister, Geo. The home they knew their whole lives left them at a vet's office, turning their worlds upside down.  We are trying to home them together as that's all they have left. They both get along with other fur kids and are available through Hearts And Hounds Rescue.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Dakota, a Schererville Beagle/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle/Border Collie for sale in Schererville, or seeking a Beagle/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Schererville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Schererville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Schererville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle/Border Collie breeders who help with Beagle/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Schererville paves the way for another one to be saved.
