Shadow's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Shadow's Story...
Shadow is a seven month old purebred, AKC registered, black Labrador Retriever. He is stunningly beautiful and very large. At only 7 months old, he already weighs 80 pounds. Shadow was surrendered by his petite, older, female owner who could no longer handle his large puppy exuberance. Shadow is available for meet and greets but is not quite ready to be adopted yet. He is up-to-date on vaccinations and is being neutered and microchipped today (2/13/13). So far, Shadow appears to be completely housetrained, good with dogs, and good with older kids (he's being fostered with an 8 year old, a 6 year old, and a nearly 5 year old and has knocked the littlest one down multiple times). One interesting quirk about Shadow is that he must have lived in a home with no staircases. He came to rescue terrified to walk down a flight of steps but is a fast and brave learner and now navigates a flight of stairs well. Shadow is being clicker trained in his foster home and has "sit" and "down" nailed. He is working on "stay" and learning not to chew inappropriately or jump up on people when excited. Shadow is a smart, soft, sweetheart of a puppy!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Shadow, a Roseville Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Roseville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Roseville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Roseville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Roseville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Roseville paves the way for another one to be saved.
