Blue's Info...

I am a special needs pet.

Blue's Story...

Blue is a gorgeous large neutered boy who was returned to the local county shelter after he became sick with a URI (kitty cold). WSKR took him in and worked to get him healthy again. In the time he has been with us he has been a quiet but very sweet and mellow boy. We discovered he was FIV+ during routine testing. This is an immune deficiency disorder in cats, cannot be transmitted to other species and can only be transmitted to other cats only via deep bite wounds or blood transfer.

Because of his special needs status, Blue's adoption fee is reduced to $85 and , this helps covers the expense of getting our rescued kitties prepared for adoption (spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccines, FVRCP vaccines, microchips and screening for FeLV/FIV). In Blue's case his FELV/FIV testing result was Neg for FeLV and Pos for FIV.

He is completely non-aggressive with other cats or people, it is very unlikely that he would ever bite another cat and transfer the virus, however, he will be considered a special needs adoption with a reduced adoption fee of $85. Please contact us today to find out more about adopting Blue.

About We Save Kitties at Risk (WSKR)

About Our Rescue Group...

WSKR is a small cat rescue in Tucson, Arizona which is run by a group of volunteers working to save at-risk kitties in local shelters and find them new homes.

Our foster volunteers are scattered across the community. We are not operating out of a centralized shelter location, our foster volunteers open their homes to the kitties we rescue. This provides the kitties with as stable and home-like an environment as possible while they wait for their forever home to find them. We work closely with southern Arizona animal shelters to rescue cats and kittens who are at risk of suffering an unpleasant fate, we rehabilitate them and then work to help them find their forever homes.
