Nellie is one of our sweet Momma dogs who brought us a litter of beautiful puppies. All of her puppies have been adopted and now Nellie is ready for a forever home of her own. Nellie has had a hard life so far. Here is what her foster Mom has to say about her: 'Nellie was brought to us by a volunteer who found her on the streets. She was so thin and malnourished that we didn't think she would make it. When we found out that she was pregnant, we just knew we had to at least give her a chance. We called her Little Piggy because she was eating 8 times a day at first. She gave birth to 7 babies who were very happy and healthy. The puppies were all adopted before Christmas and are all doing well. Nellie overcame her next hurdle with successful heartworm treatment and she now has lots and lots of energy and is one of the smartest dogs I have ever seen. Nellie is currently getting professional training so she can learn to play with other dogs. She is totally housebroken, loves people and will lick you to death if she has the chance. We are looking for someone who will love Nellie as much as we do and give her the forever home she deserves. Please give her a chance.' Call Foster Mom Karen at 404-579-6398 to meet Nellie.
Our dog and puppy adoption fees are $250. That includes spay/neuter surgery, disease testing (dogs testing positive for heartworms are treated; however, we do not add that charge to our adoption fee), up to date vaccinations, deworming, up to date flea/tick & heartworm prevention, a 24Petwatch microchip and 30 days of 24PetWatch pet insurance.
Georgia SPCA is an adoption agency that rescues dogs and cats from GA shelters that are in danger of euthanasia. Once we pull an animal, it is vaccinated, quarantined for health reasons, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks AND spayed or neutered prior to being placed up for adoption. We spay and neuter ALL of our pets including puppies and kittens.
We are open M-F 11-7, Sat 11-5 and Sun 1-4. The GA SPCA is on Buford Hwy is between McGinnis Ferry Rd. and Sugarload Parkway. We also have cats and kittens available for adoptions daily at the Flowery Branch Petsmart.
We begin our process with an adoption application. Once approved we sign a contract with the adopter. There is an adoption fee which varies depending on what type of pet. Our adoption fees help us pay for normal business expenses and animal care such as spay/neuter, vaccinations, Feline Leukemia and FIV testing for cats, Heartworm testing for dogs, deworming, flea & tick prevention, heartworm prevention and microchips.
We adopt locally as well as out of state. We can not provide transportation so if you are adopting out of state, you would be responsible for transport.
