Chance's Story...
Chance is a young dog, about six months old. He's an adorable little guy, weighing about seventeen pounds. He's house trained and enjoys the occasional ride in the car. He sleeps in his crate every night and loves to go outside to play. He spends most of the day indoors with his foster family but likes to go out often to explore. He gets along great with the other medium sized dogs at his foster home. We haven't introduced him to cats yet but will be happy to do a cat test, if needed. Chance welcomes guests to his foster home and only barks occasionally. His foster mom says he "talks" more than he "barks". He's a great young dog :). To speak with his foster mom, complete an application, and meet him - please email INFO@FORrescue.net. Chance is fostered in Huntsville, AL

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chance, a Homewood Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie for sale in Homewood, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie dog from a breeder in Homewood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homewood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homewood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog/Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homewood paves the way for another one to be saved.
