Cleo's Info...

I am already spayed, up to date with shots, and good with dogs.

Cleo's Story...
Cleo is a small (9 lb) terrier/dachshund mix, about 3 years old. She was shy and unhappy in a shelter for almost a month. Shelter staff felt she would benefit from a home environment, so Dusty Paws took her into foster on February 9th.

The foster mom reports that Cleo is low key and quiet. Cleo attended an adoption event only a day after she was rescued from the shelter and did very well. She got along with the other small dogs and was fine with being picked up and carried. She will probably do best in an adult home or one with gentle older children. We will be able to provide more information as we get to know her better. Cleo will be spayed prior to adoption.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cleo, a Castro Valley Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund dog from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund breeders who help with Terrier (Unknown Type, Small)/Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
