My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maggie is a great loyal companion, and her adorable and unique look is easy to fall in love with. Maggie has a great personality; she rarely barks, is very social with all people and animals, and loves the attention. She has come a long way with her training, picking up some new commands as well, but she is still young and needs someone who can continue to work with her. She is approximately 7 months old and currently weighs approximately 30 lbs.

Here is what else her foster dad had to say:

Maggie is still a puppy and has a good amount of puppy energy to go on walks, runs, hikes, play or other activities. She loves to be outside and explore the world, sniffing at everything and running about. When she is in the house all she wants to do is follow around her owner from room to room and lay beside you while you do your work. If you give her a bone or a toy she enjoys she will be entertained to some time.

Maggie is fairly well behaved in the house. When you are making or eating food she might be inquisitive, sniff and beg at first, but I have never seen her jump up on something to steal food. I just wouldn’t leave food unattended at a low level. She will chew on some things if she gets hungry or restless, but she loves dog bones, so if you leave one out for her she will be entertained for hours. Maggie is starting to get good at come and sit, and is stating to learn down and stay. She is very food motivated and if someone had the time and patience to fully train her she will be very well behaved. She is in good health other than the fact that she needs to gain a little more weight. We have got her well on her way to being fully house trained. She has a fairly small bladder so she needs to be taken out somewhat frequently, it’s only when she is inside for longer periods that she might have an accident. She also likes to go first thing in the morning. Maggie is not crate trained and we have not been using it, as she is very reluctant to get in. She will get in if you really make her but she will often bark and whine while in there.

Maggie is very social and enjoys meeting new people and all the attention she gets. She is very docile, rarely ever barks, and never really shows any type of aggression toward people. Maggie is fine with all other animals. She is fine with the cat in our house and merely goes up and sniffs it. As for dogs out in the street, she will pull towards them and sniff and say hello, but she never barks at them or shows any aggression.

Maggie love to be outside, especially in the snow. She just runs around and is very curious, sniffing everything around. In the house she will mostly just follow you around from room to room, but she enjoys chewing on bones or playing with toys. She has a moderate energy level. She has enough energy that she can appreciate a good run or playing fetch, but is calm enough to just lay down at home, as long as she has had enough activity. Despite her fluffy coat, Maggie barely sheds to the point where it seems like she does not shed at all. Maggie is very quiet and hardly barks in or out of the home.

Maggie would really fit well in any situation, anything from a young adult living alone to a family with kids. She would work in any living situation as well, like apartments or big houses with yards, because she just wants to stick close to her owner. The only limitation is that she should ideally go to someone who will have the time and patience to continue to work on her training and give her the activity she craves.

If you would like to make this amazing pup part of your family, please submit an application for consideration.
