This gorgeous girl is named Chessie (A19110220). Chessie is a friendly, affectionate girl who has a wonderful energy and her tail is almost always wagging! She loves people and other dogs and is an all-around amazing girl!
Chessie is a very happy girl who is eager to please! She loves to learn and is an A+ student. She has already learned sit and is really grasping the concept of loose-leash walking. She likes to stick by your side during walks and frequently checks in with you to make sure she is doing the right thing. She is working on learning many other cool things too. She is very attentive and loves her training time, especially because she knows that is her chance to earn some yummy treats.
Chessie loves the great outdoors. Her favorite thing to do is take walks. She recently went on an adventure with one of her Pen Pals. Pen Pals are volunteers paired with her who are dedicated to keeping her happy while at the shelter and helping her find a home. They work on training, socialization, and kennel enrichment while at the shelter and offer post adoption support. On their adventure, Chessie went for a long walk with another dog and they had a wonderful time. Chessie walked nicely on the leash and enjoyed the company of her canine companion. She got to see a herd of deer in the woods and met other people walking. After the walk, she got to play in her Pen Pal’s backyard and worked on some training. She would really love a backyard of her own to play in!
Chessie is an adult female pit bull mix weighing 62 pounds. She is a little underweight and would definitely benefit from gaining a few pounds. Chessie was found as a stray in an alley so we do not know too much about her past. That’s ok, Chessie is focused on her bright future!
Chessie is currently in paired housing. This means that she gets to share her kennel with another dog. She is playful and friendly with other dogs! Do you have a dog at home? If so, Chessie would love to meet them! Do you know who else she would love to meet? YOU! So bring the family to meet Chessie to find out if she would be the right fit for you. If you have any questions, feel free to email her pen pals Christina - doglover672010@yahoo.com and Dee – laxdeexla@gmail.com.
