ATHENA's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

ATHENA's Story...
Athena is a blue brindle pit bull, around 1-1 1/2 years old we believe. She was abandoned in a Walmart parking lot, tied to a cart return in 90 degree heat and sun. She had a note under her collar "I need a home please take me." Her rescuer brought her to us. She is a very special girl, very loving and sweet and easy going. She loves to play with her best friend, Jerry. It was love at first sight for them and she and Jerry spend all their time together now. She is housetrained and loves people and other animals. She is afraid of cats a little! They hiss and she runs! She does need a home with either lots of people or a stay at home family member. She doesn't like to be separated from her family for long periods of time. We would love it if there was someone that wanted a special pit bull to take through therapy classes. She would make a great Pit Bull ambassador, or therapy dog to visit children in hospitals or assisted living facilities. She truly is a special girl. Her adoption fee is $75.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

ATHENA, a Weeki Wachee Pit Bull Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pit Bull Terrier for sale in Weeki Wachee, or seeking a Pit Bull Terrier dog from a breeder in Weeki Wachee.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Weeki Wachee already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Weeki Wachee breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pit Bull Terrier breeders who help with Pit Bull Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Weeki Wachee paves the way for another one to be saved.
