Lester's Story...

Don't let that cranky morning mug fool you - five year old Lester is a genuine honey bunny.  He has been living in a veterinary clinic most of his life and is looking for his first forever home.  Lester loves the color blue.  He also loves someone reading him children’s books which have a lot of pictures, as he loves looking at the pictures.  And most of all:  he loves attention.  He loves salmon and sardines.  Lester has tested positive for FIV. This is not a death sentence, and most FIV positive cats live long, healthy lives. As he has a close familial connection with Bernadette, her rescuers hope that both of them are adopted by the same family.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lester, a New York Domestic Mediumhair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in New York, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair cat from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
