Riley's Story...
This little guy is wonderful!!! He was very scared to come out and play but once he did, he sure enjoyed himself. I'm not sure what his mix is but he does have a long snout and is a pretty skinny guy. He is very loveable and truly appreciated the time we spent with him. I love the last picture I took of him..I think he's smiling so big that his eyes are closed!! What a doll he is. He was an owner surrender, again, I don’t know what the story was...he does have all of his shots but his rabies. I guess some people just can't handle a puppy's energy.......it's no different than having a baby and surviving those midnight feedings but many people don't understand that...and that is why the shelter is one run from being FULL!!! Please help this guy get out. This shelter is a KILL shelter...someone will have to go if we don't get these pups out!!!!!! Please help!!!

Call the shelter ASAP!! 502-633-0009!!!!!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Riley, a Shelbyville Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Shelbyville, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Shelbyville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Shelbyville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Shelbyville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Shelbyville paves the way for another one to be saved.
